FOI F0013056 Clarification On Why No ATC Tape Is Available

Response from Air Accidents Investigation Branch, Farnborough on the FOI request F00113056. I have spoken to our Recorded Data Team who have checked our archives and at no time did we retain a copy of Mr. Sheppard’s report. Neither do we hold a copy of the ATC tape that is referred to.

Information from Geoff Williams, regarding a phone call with his nephew on the evening of the 12th December 1995. Geoff described how Andrew rang and told him that he had been in a government building where he met with an official, who he named as Philip Scibberas.

Email from Don Mullan highlighting the newspaper article by Joe Mifsud and Felix Agius that reports that sources state that the theory that Shqaqi’s attackers escaped by plane has been set aside. The article also details Shqaqis previous visits to Malta. The article also reports that Libyan Committee of Organizations for International Peace, based in Tripoli, arranged the visits and that Shqaqi was known as Dr. Ibrahim Shaweshi.

The same article states that police have so far refused to say is whether they have established how the killers got from Manuel Dimech street to the airport.
