The enclosures will ring you up to date with developments in Malta and you will note the Board of Enquiry has gone for the easy option.
I have also received and read the official report which rubbishes or ignores all other evidence and Affidavits, I understand from Cecelia Aquilina the report has raised a lot of public questions in Malta.
With regard to the proposed television program, in November I had a brief call from Gareth Hart of TV 3. He indicated that consideration was being given to the possibility of a program early this year, however, in the light of recent developments I expect that reconsideration of this project will follow as a matter of course.
In the meantime Daniel and his mother are preparing a response to the report which will be launched in the Malta Press and I will follow with an additional assessment based on the evidence I have accumulated, in particular the statement of Andrew Williams which the Board chose to ignore under the heading of Allegations, notwithstanding said statement was submitted under Affidavit, notarised by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin and the Malta Consulate to Ireland.
In order to put my response together I find that I would require much of the documentation and tapes which I supplied to you, could you arrange for these items to be dispatched to me at an early date or alternatively, given that they are bulky, I could arrange to travel to Dublin and collect at a pre-arranged pick up point.
The latter is no problem for me as I am now a Senior citizen and the Enterprise is very convenient.
I note from developments in Derry the Bloody Sunday Enquiry is falling into a format which suggests it is developing Widgery symptoms and could end up another whitewash. In the light of your good work on that project I feel this would be a real tragedy.
