Dear Mr. Barnett

Further to our recent telephone discussion I enclose for your perusal a selection of items from my extensive records and files.

  • Report from Malta Times 26th June 1999.
  • Copy of my final submission to the Court of Enquiry.
  • Copy of my Affidavit duly notorised and signed by the Department of Fireign Affairs in Dublin and counter-signed by the Hon. Consulate General of Malta to Ireland. This information was first presented to the Chairman of Enquiry, Dr. Philip Scibberas LLD., in August 1996. It is no exaggeration to state that on that occasion he threw it back in my face, he has steadfastly refused to accept or address it's contents, hence the Affidavit. A similar sworn Affidavit has been submitted by Geoffrey Williams of Liverpool, the brother of Michael Williams. These two documents are not mentioned in the final report, being collectively and very conveniently bunched together under the heading of rumour and speculation.
  • This is a copy of the manifest sent by fax from Djerba to Malta search headquarters on Sunday 3rd December 1995. The comment to me by a Tunisian Official was that this document did not appear to be very official or professional by Tunisian standards.
  • Details from Maltese paper, reference Shaqaqi's assassination, and document from the Internet March 1996.
  • From the Malta Times, April 1996. The content served to confirm our fears and our growing suspicion of an official cover up.
  • From the Malta Independent, this item has never been addressed by the Enquiry, and Civil Aviation Malta refuses to acknowledge it‘s existence.
  • Daniel Aquilina is a Lawyer and brother of Matthew, the youngest of the missing. We and the Aquilina family have co-operated very closely in our on-going investigation over the past four and a half years. This document represents a brainstorming session in 1998, we consider all the questions very relevant.
  • This document is self explanatory. Mr. Wood sat beside the pilot on the outward flight, he described his experience in Court as very very frightening, with gales, icing-up on the wings, the smell of burning rubber, no lights in the cabin, instrument panel without power, he felt he was "Lucky to get down alive." Two of the remaining passengers confirmed his comments.

The enclosed documentation will give you some idea of the nature of the problem we and the other families of the missing have experienced in our quest to obtain answers to our many questions without success, if, through your or Mr. Shayler's efforts answers can be found we would be forever in your debt.

Yours sincerely

Cormac Boomer.
